It's thursday here in Manila...over twenty five hours in an airplane and we're almost there!!
We started in Dallas Fort Worth Airport at 7am Tuesday, then flew to LA...short flight...I slept most of the way...
After about two hours in LA we boarded a 777 double decker plane and flew FIFTEEN HOURS to Seoul, South Korea, then to Hong Kong...lemme just say that my new favorite airline is Cathay Pacific...movie screens on each seat with tons of movies available (Jumper, Mars Attacks, and The Golden Compass for me thanks) plus a bunch of TV shows and games...amazing...
An hour or so in Hong Kong, then back in the air...the flight to Manila (Philippines) was like and hour and a half...one word; EXHAUSTED!!...i was really tired...the "lack of sleep this past weekend plus lack of sleep on the plane" combo really kicked me in the pants...
Got all of our baggage in Manila...that took about 45 mins...then into a really cramped taxi and to the hotel...our room smelled like the inside of someones foot by the time we went to sleep...six guys + thirty hours of travel will do that to ya...sweat and exhaustion...gotta love em!
Breakfast this morning was good...better not get use to that...i hear the food over in Iloilo (our final destination...about and hour from here in a plane) ain't exactly five star...but we're hopeful...
hopeful that our sacrifice will not go in vain
hopeful that change will continue to happen in this country
hopeful that God will move like we've never seen
I'll try to keep this thing updated...no promises though...Thanks everyone for all your prayers...please keep them coming...

3 hours...
Yes its true...its midnight on the night before we leave for the Philippines and I'm up...
What? Get some sleep before the (quite literal) day of travel that comes looming on the horizon...NO!! Why would I wanna do that??
Anyway, despite my lack of a much need chunk of rest, I'm extremely exited about this missions trip...keep it tuned to this blog for updates...hopefully I'll be able to get to a computer sometime on the trip...if however I am unable to access the internet while I am there, I will take detailed (um...sure) notes each day and then present them on this blog when I return...
I must extend a huge thank you to all of you who contributed to this trip through both prayer and financial support...thank you...you might never know how your gift has helped advance the kingdom of God, but please be assured that it has...you are just as much a part of the YFNI 08 team as me...so again, thank you...
Well...now all I have left to face before we leave is this one last inner struggle...should I try to get two hours of sleep, or just stay up...
Hmm...life choices...3 'o clock comes faster than you know...see you all on the other side!!

Update...
Hello all!! Just a quick update on how life is going. For your viewing pleasure, I've bullet-pointed the highlights.
-Just got back from a youth ministry trip to Taos, New Mexico!! Very exiting...what a place! There is definitely war going on in that town. Just down the road from where we were was the largest percentage (per capita) for heroin users in America. Also there is a lot of issues with witchcraft and things like that. Needless to say we faced some pretty big obstacles.
Overall though the trip was a great success. We saw a lot of breakthrough in the youth group and we believe that we planted a great seed.
-Going to the Philippines in like 15 days!! I'm so exited!! Thank you to all who have contributed both in prayer and financial support thus far. Just to let everyone know, the team still needs $10,000 in order to go, so if you would like to contribute but have not yet done so, now is the perfect time!!
Well, thats the story thus far. Sorry it took so long for me to post. I'll try to do better in the future!! Much love to everyone reading this!!

Come on Jesus!!
Great news everyone...we met our deadline for last weeks money!! Incredibly we were able to raise over $18,000!! WOW!! We still have not raised all of the money we need, but thanks to those of you who gave we're a lot closer! Info will be sent out soon on how you can help financially as well as through prayer.
Any way, besides the Philippines trip, life is going pretty well. This week has been a little ruff in that I have been feeling really tired during the day...luckily God gave us Redbull right? Hehe...
This semester has probably been the most life changing of all the semesters I've had at CFNI. I can't explain any other way except that my heart is getting geared up for whats next. Every once and a while I have to make myself stay in the here and now...if that makes sense. I'm discovering a lot about what following Jesus means...that is to be content with where you are. So yea thats sorta where I am right now...
I hope everyone is doing well! As it is right now I'll be back in PA on August 23rd for about two or three weeks...I'll try to make the rounds and see everyone (theres a lot of ya!). Thank you all for the prayer, support, encouragement, etc, and I hope to see you soon!

First post...
HEEEEEELLLLLLLOOOOOO!!!
First post ever...what do I say? The main purpose of this blogg is just to let those of you who don't know but want to know how my life is progressing, happening, engaging (engaged?! WHAT?!).
Don't worry...I'm not engaged.
Anyway, we're getting ready to go on a missions trip this summer to the Philippines (we being Youth For the Nations International). Right now we are in desperate need for financial assistance. Its make or break time! We need $1100 by TOMORROW!! AHHH!! If you can help in any way, please let me know. Contact info is on the bottom of the page or you can go online to cfni.org.
